The Brisbane French Speakers' Association (BFSA) brings together
francophones and francophiles from France, Belgium, Canada and other
parts of the world who reside in the Brisbane area.
The BFSA was set up to keep French speakers in touch, to organise
activities to help our members and to try and establish a French
-English Bilingual Program in one or two Brisbane primary schools.
French -English Bilingual Program
We believe that learning to read and write in French while
living in Australia would be a great asset for French speakers as well
as non-French speakers. A bilingual program would follow the Australian
curriculum but would offers activities in both English and French. It
would be open to all children whether they are French-speaking or not.
We hope to start with Prep in 2009.
If you are interested in the French-English Bilingual Program, please take our online survey to express your interest. You will need to register. See our FAQ for more info or post a question on the forum . You can also check for the next committee meeting using the calendar.
French mothers playgroup
The BFSA also organises a French-Speaking playgroup for parents and their children (FAQs ). Check the calendar for the next activity or go the forum for the latest news and discussion about the playgroup.
We are currently at the very early stages of setting up the
association, be sure to check the news section for activity
updates.
